Faye Gao

As an embodiment of contrast and complexity, Faye Gao lives between worlds—intuition and intellect, heritage and reinvention. Born in China and shaped by her years in Canada, New York, Bali, and now Paris, she brings a global perspective to her creative work, one that speaks through feeling, form, and memory.

Before founding amaï, Faye led global marketing strategy for a Fortune 500 company. Trained in scale and storytelling, she later returned to design—fusing business precision with creative intuition. amaï became her response to an unfulfilled longing: to translate emotion into form and power into poetry.

amaï emerged from this pursuit—to weave nostalgia and modernity into garments that move like memory. Each collection explores tension and harmony through sculpted mesh, fluid satin, and intricate handwork—materials chosen for how they hold light, movement, and skin. Influenced by the ethereal poise of the Tang Dynasty and the timeless glamour of the 1970s, her work is a study in balance: romance with edge, softness with intent.

For Gao, amaï is not a brand—it is a language of feeling.
